Non-Fiction Text Features

We have been learning about non-fiction in reading and writing workshop. Students have explored getting to know and recognize the different text features in nonfiction books and how to write using them. Below you will see a collage of photos that captures some of the features. Students used the I-pads and an app called Pic Collage to demonstrate their new learning.

P.E. Video

Check out the video Mr. T. made of the class in p.e. class today! This was their "warm up" dance.

New Science Unit

We have started a new science unit this week. Students are learning about Balance and Motion. This week we discussed balance. For an object to be in a stable position students are learning to give it a little tap. If it falls, the object is not stable. If it wobbles back and forth and returns to its position (without falling) it is considered in a stable position.
Next week, students will recieve contracts in which they need to experiment with "have-to"  activities and "choice" activities based on balance.   It should be a lot of fun for the students!  :)
