Reading

While reading students are learning about cause and effect.  This has been a lot of fun!  We have made a chart, watched a Brain Pop Jr. Video and will begin to discuss cause and effect using the book Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.

A Letter From Nurse Kelly

April 1, 2015
Dear UMS families,
This past week, there has been a higher than usual number of children with a gastrointestinal illness (stomach virus).  Symptoms of the illness include nausea, vomiting, fatigue and stomach pain.  Some, but not all children, have had a fever.  A few children have also had diarrhea.
The recommended treatment for this illness is clear fluids and rest.  Children should not return to school until they are free of symptoms for at least 24 hours.  The best way to prevent the spread of illness is to stay home when sick and to wash hands often.
Please call the doctor if your child is unable to keep down fluids, is not urinating, or has severe abdominal pain.
Call me if you have any questions and stay well.
Sincerely,
Kathleen Kelly RN BS
