Gingerbread Houses

On Friday, we constructed and designed our own gingerbread house.  A HUGE thank you to Melissa for making the frosting/glue and all the parents for sending in candy, crackers, and other supplies.  It was great fun!

Gingerbread Friends

Last week, each child created their own Gingerbread Person.  The ideas and designs were awesome! The Gingerbread People are hanging outside our classroom.  Please take a peek if you are at UMS! Students will be doing a writing piece this week to go along with the art.

Mystery State Skype

Today our class did our first Mystery State Skype.  We asked a series of yes/no questions to figure out what state this 2nd grade class was in.  Each student had a USA map in front of them.  Please ask your child what our very first question was.  :)  Our connection today was not great and we had to keep calling them back.  I was so busy with the technology piece that I forgot to take pictures.  We did finally guess what state they were from.  They have a NBA team called The Bulls.  Can you guess the state?

Baking Gingerbread

Today we baked our very own gingerbread baby!  On Monday we read the story by Jan Brett.  On Tuesday, we listened to Jan Brett teach us how to draw the gingerbread baby as we followed along. Today we baked, frosted, decorated, and ate him!  Delicious!
