Local volunteers from the Colchester Fire Department stopped in for a visit and presentation this morning.  Ask your child what he/she learned.



Pumpkin Patch/Lake Champlain

We had a wonderful field trip today to the pumpkin patch and to Lake Champlain.  The weather was perfect and the kids were amazing!  We will continue to use these two field trips to talk about how Lake Champlain affects our community and discuss pumpkins during our planting unit in science.  Enjoy this video!



Harvest Celebration - Sign up

Food Drive - Next week!



Our class will be doing a wonderful community service the week of October 8-12th.   Next week we are collecting food for the Colchester Food Pantry.  Please send in any items that you are willing to donate and we will deliver them on Friday.  Thank you for supporting this community effort!  :)

Daily 5! (Video)

Yesterday during Reading Workshop I videoed the students during the Daily 5 portion.  They were all doing such an amazing job!  You will notice how quiet it is and that everyone is doing their activity the WHOLE time!

Potato Picking Time

Here is our first video...today we went over to The Colchester Food Pantry to harvest the potatoes your child helped plant last spring.  Students dug up the potatoes and walked them to the food pantry.  What great community members our 2nd graders are!
