Champ Band Celebration

Students in Room 12 filled their Champ Band Bin and voted to have an extra recess and hot chocolate.  It was a perfect day for it!

New Year Tradition/Connection

During our learning and reading about the different ways people ring in the new year Mr. Kellogg had a great personal connection.  His family tradition was to make and eat Swedish pancakes served with Lingonberries (jam).  We have been discussing how good readers make and share their connections.  Thank you to Mr. Kellogg for sharing his (delicious) family tradition with us.

Hats Off to a New Year!

Happy New Year!  Check out our latest bulletin board with our resolutions! In writing workshop,  students are learning the different ways people celebrate the new year.  During this process students are learning to read and take notes to write an informative piece.   2.W.2  (I can write an informative piece where I introduce a topic, use facts and definitions to develop a point, and provide a concluding statement or section)
