Martin Luther King's Dream in Our Classroom
Our class did a mini-unit on an Important American Martin Luther King Jr. We used I-Pads to take pictures and the app Voicethread to record our voices. Enjoy our voicethread!

Field Trip(s)
ATTENTION:
If you have not signed your child up for the ice skating or bowling field trip I am asking that you please do so by the end of this week. :) I know the original time frame was Feb. 1st, however, we need to have the money collected before that. Also, we have been selected to attend a show at The Flynn Theater March 26th at 12:00 to watch If You Give a Mouse a Cookie. We also will be collecting money for this trip as well. I apolgize that the money collection is happening all at once, but we are required to have all the money deposited into our second grade account prior to the trips. Thank you for understanding!

Field Trip!!
2nd Grade FIELD TRIPS
In conjunction with our science units, nutrition and balance and motion, we are offering a choice of 2 field trips. On February 15, 2013 the 2nd grade team will travel by bus to Dorset Park to ice skate and to Spare Time to bowl. Your child may choose one of these trips. (Helmets are required for ice skating-bicycle helmets are fine). The cost for each trip is $8.00 per person. Both trips will leave UMS at 8:45 and return by lunch (11:50). Chaperones are welcome, but should meet us at either Dorset Park, S. Burlington or Spare Time in Colchester.
PLEASE NOTE: in the event of a disproportionate number of kids picking 1 field trip over the other (ie: 70 kids picking ice skating and 10 kids picking bowling) the one trip with less students will be cancelled and we will all go to the same activity. You will be notified before the field trip date if one of the trips needs to be cancelled.
Please fill out the form below and return it to your child’s teacher with the $8.00 field trip fee. ($16.00 if you want to chaperone) by Fri. 1/18/13. If you are willing to sponsor another student we would gladly put the donated money towards their field trip.
