6th Annual Union Memorial School "Chilly Champ Fun Run"

Nutrition

We will be starting a science unit on Nutrition soon!  On Wednesday, Steve Davis our Colchester Food Service Director presented about healthy eating and the 5 food groups.  Students in our class brainstormed and voted on a complete lunch menu for 1 day in December.  He is currently putting together the menu and our class will get a "shout out" for what we chose.  The students were really excited and interested in having a voice in what they eat.  This is always a fun unit of study!

Library Request

Calling All Tissue Boxes!
The UMS library is in need of MANY empty rectangular tissue boxes to use as shelf blocks.  These will be placed behind smaller books on shelves to prevent them from being pushed back too far for children to easily reach.
Please consider sending in your empty boxes with your students-- we could use as many as 50!  Thank you in advance for any help you can provide!

Monday Math

We had some fun in math workshop yesterday.  We are learning about fact families and made a Fact Family Frankenstein.  We also estimated how many pieces of popcorn fit into the skull.  Then, enjoyed eating the popcorn.
