Word Study/Spelling Stations

This week we have been reviewing for our first SWR(word study/spelling) proficiency assessment.  This will include word families and red words introduced since the beginning of the school year.

This review station was spelling red words with wiki sticks.  A favorite station!

This is the word family review station.  Students made flip books for the -ip family.  Here students are reading the words in the flip book.

Red Word Station - I had two red word stations this week for review.  Red words can be a challenge for students to spell so the "extra" practice is needed.  Students were able to choose a poem, a book, or sentences.

The computer station.  Students were able to type some of the red words and word family words.  They really enjoyed this!
