We are learning in reading workshop that "good" readers make inferences while reading. Students make inferences all the time without realizing exactly what they are doing. Making inferences is like being a detective. You look at all the clues and put them together along with your background knowledge to come up with an idea about a situation or problem. Students have been enjoying this skill. Please ask your child about our animal riddles and how we have been "detectives".
